This was my first regular music slot and in all honesty I never really did much with it beyond about 5 shows and the odd special.
It was marketed on Instagram as “Join Phoebe as they drive through various b-roads of deep cuts and unlikely singles that inspired great artists.” I was lucky to do a similar show during my time at Sixth Form, so the format was somewhat stolen from that.
It was good fun, but the requirement to come up with 2 hours of content per week, and a cohesive set of songs, was rather a lot. I got to try out lots of new ideas, make custom idents and beds, and communicate with the audience (who were often just as tired as me at 7am on a Tuesday morning!)
I think one of my best memories was doing a live show from my home over Easter - completely impulsive and probably the most musically cohesive show I presented. After my first year of university, the show was retired - only returning once in December 2024 after the studio had been reopened.
