Biography
I was heavily involved in URN between September 2022 and June 2025, finding myself presenting, producing and editing alongside my primary responsibilities within the technical team. I was Head of Technology and Digital during the 2024-25 academic year, leading the technical fit-out of the recently renovated C17 studios. It ended up being a pretty similar setup to the 2020-2023 system - an Axia Livewire core with Zetta/GSelector playout/scheduling supported by a questionable collection of Windows workstations and Linux virtual machines. Albeit in far nicer, soundproof digs than before! This is the system that remains in operation today.
I have many fond memories of URN from my 3 years at Nottingham, and I shall attempt to come up with some specific examples in due course.
I now work in broadcast engineering, working on TV and Radio studio build projects. I credit the experience picked up at URN with getting me into the industry.
